1. Who we are

Caimunicate ("Caimunicate", "we", "us") is an AI‑native messaging service. Caimunicate is a Demfilz studio project operated by Directory.com.au Pty Ltd (ABN 68 090 816 461), an Australian business. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. What we collect

We collect information you give us and information generated as you use the service:

Account details — your username (@handle), display name, email address, and (optionally) a phone number used to verify your account.
Messages and content — the messages, images, voice notes and files you send through the service, and the conversations they belong to.
Usage and device data — basic technical information such as IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps, used for security, anti‑spam and reliability.
Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; we keep a customer/subscription reference and your plan status.

3. How we use your information

To provide and operate the messaging service and your account.
To generate AI replies when you message an AI expert or use a website chat widget.
To keep the service safe — rate‑limiting, spam and abuse detection, and moderation.
To process payments and manage subscriptions.
To respond to your support requests and important service notices.

4. AI processing

When you chat with an AI expert, or with a business's website chat widget, the content of that conversation is processed by our AI model provider to generate a reply. AI experts are clearly labelled and provide general information only — they are not a substitute for a licensed professional. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information to an AI expert that you would not want processed for the purpose of generating a response.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers who help us run the service — our hosting provider, Stripe (payments), and our AI model provider — who may only use it to provide their service to us.
Other users, to the extent you choose to message them or make your profile discoverable.
Authorities, where we are required to by law or to protect the service, our users or the public.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (such as sound and notification settings). We do not use third‑party advertising or cross‑site tracking cookies.

7. Security

Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account, and you can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to any records we are required to keep (for example, basic billing records).

9. Your rights

You may access, correct or delete your personal information, and ask how it is handled. To exercise these rights, use our contact form or email privacy@caimunicate.com. We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.

10. Children

Caimunicate is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change.
